The Silent Storyteller
What I love most about art is its unmatched ability to tell a story without a single spoken or written word. It proves that you do not need a script to garnish an emotion. A simple arrangement of lines, shadows, and textures can strike someone to their core, bypassing language entirely to evoke grief, joy, awe, or profound peace.
Art is an open invitation. It gives someone something to look at, but it never demands that they see it the same way I do. Instead, it allows every individual to interpret the piece through the lens of the person viewing the piece.
This open-ended connection is where the true magic happens: • The Unspoken Dialogue: The artist speaks through the medium, and the viewer responds through their feelings, creating a conversation entirely in the abstract. • Infinite Interpretations: Ten different people can stand in front of the exact same portrait—like my charcoal drawing of the young Black woman or the engagement piece for my friend—and walk away with ten completely unique emotional responses. They love each other and I tried to capture that what I love about that Peace is I was able to show the appreciation each person had for each other and how beautiful they are together. What makes us different makes us much more interesting. Diversity I believe is what God gave us. If we all look the same and thought the same things and did the same things. Life would be extremely boring. Instead, God gave us slight differences to make each one of us unique that is the beauty of what God created in each of us. • A Mirror for the Viewer: The art changes depending on who is looking at it, reflecting the viewer's own soul back at them.Everyone sees art in a different way, and that is the absolute beauty of it. It is not meant to be a rigid, singular truth; it is a living, breathing experience that shifts with every new pair of eyes. As an artist, my job isn't to dictate what people feel—it is simply to build the window, step back, and let them discover their own story inside the lens
Art is my gift. God gave it to me. I don’t take it for granted. He didn’t give me a lot of gifts, but he gave me my ability to capture images and allow me to express myself. I’ve never sold any of my paintings for my drawings.
I always give them as gifts to the people that I love. It’s how I express myself and show my appreciation for another person that is important to me.
